Composting Seminars
The Solid Waste District offers compost education, classes and seminars. Register for a class or request a speaker.
The District offers composting presentations for children and adults. The seminars and webinars, typically scheduled from March through October, educate about the science of composting and provide residents with how-to-compost instruction.
To request a presentation, contact the District's education specialist at (216) 443-3731 or request a speaker. Webinars may be canceled prior to event due to low registration numbers.
Affordable compost bins are available for purchase at the seminars and at our office in Garfield Heights. See the types of composting products we offer.
Annual Composting Survey
Do you compost at home? Each year, the Solid Waste District measures the number of households in the county that have backyard composting. Consider completing our composting survey for 2022; the deadline to respond is March 15, 2023. Survey respondents will be entered in a drawing to receive a free GeoBin.
