At the Solid Waste District, our staff refers to April as 'Earth Month.' We are busy all month long teaching, staffing booths, and answering questions about waste reduction, recycling, composting, and proper disposal. 

This is a quick list of events that will be held throughout Cuyahoga County in celebration of Earth Day. It's not a day, it's a movement.

[celebration] Earth Day

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org (formerly Earth Day Network). 

The theme for 2024 is "Planet vs. Plastics."  

Learn the history of Earth Day and consider these tips and ideas for making a small change that creates a big impact.
