Year-Round Drop-Off at the Solid Waste District

Recycle unwanted campaign yard signs – plastic film, corrugated plastic, cardboard signs, and the metal stands – year-round at the Solid Waste District. The District accepts yard signs at 4750 East 131 Street in Garfield Heights. Drop off yard signs in the building vestibule during business hours Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM. County offices, including the Solid Waste District, are closed on holidays.

Materials are recycled by Northcoast Recycling Specialists in Wickliffe. The plastic is marketed to compounders that convert the material into pellets for making items such as plastic bags and plastic toys. The paper is sent to a fiber recycler. The metal is recycled through a local scrap yard.

The Solid Waste District has collected and recycled campaign signs since the 2012 general election.

See other collection programs at the Solid Waste District.
