Tires
When you buy new tires, recycle your old tires through your tire retailer at the time of purchase. There are no free disposal options for scrap tires.
Olmsted Township has a year-round drop off for scrap tires on first Saturdays from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, and second and fourth Wednesdays from 7:00 AM-2:00 PM at the township service garage. Automotive only (20" or less) and no tires on rims.
When you buy new tires, dispose of your old tires at the place and time of purchase. There will be a small fee charged to cover the cost of disposing your old tires at a state licensed facility.
If you already have tires at home, contact a tire retail store such as Conrad’s Tire Express, Firestone Auto Care, and National Tire and Battery. The stores may dispose of tires for non-customers. Also, your city may provide scrap tire collection. Check with your ciy service department.
In the State of Ohio, you must be registered with Ohio EPA to transport more than 10 tires at a time. If you have more than 10 tires, or have a large tire pile to be cleaned up, contact a registered tire transporter for disposal services. For business locations, see the list of options below.
Need to report an illegal tire dump? Did you see illegal dumping in Cleveland or a Cuyahoga County suburb? Call the Illegal Dumping Hotline at (216) 664-DUMP. Learn more about the Environmental Crimes Task Force.
